As a patient or parent in Devon, your GP can refer you or your child to Healios for an autism assessment via the Right to Choose referral pathway. You just need to ask your GP to complete our quick and easy online form using the steps below.

Step 1

Speak to your GP and request Healios as your chosen provider under the NHS Right to Choose framework

Step 2

Your GP will review your request and complete the Healios online GP referral form

Step 3

Once your referral is submitted, Healios will contact you to begin your assessment journey.

How long is the Healios Right to Choose waiting list?
Are Healios an eligible Right to Choose provider in Devon?

Yes, Healios has been accredited to deliver a Right to Choose referral pathway for autism assessments for children, young people and adults. 

How will I know if you've received my or my child's Right to Choose referral?

As soon as your GP submits the Right to Choose referral to Healios, we’ll send an automated confirmation email to you and your GP outlining the next steps. This will include how you can activate your Healios account and complete any required forms. If you have not received this email within a few days, we recommend you check your junk or spam folder, or reach out to Healios directly at [email protected]. Please check with your GP first, that they have completed the referral to Healios.

What happens after the assessment with Healios?

The patient or family will receive a feedback appointment where the clinician will discuss the assessment outcome and their clinical decisions. They will receive a clinical report, and a copy will be shared with you (the GP).

What happens if a Right to Choose referral is not suitable?

If we’re not able to proceed with your referral we’ll contact you and your GP to let you know, along with the reason why and recommended next steps for your GP.

I'm already on a waiting list for an NHS assessment. Can I change it to Right to Choose?

Yes, as long as your GP agrees to change the referral to a Right to Choose autism assessment. If you would like to do this, please contact your GP.

To refer a patient, you just need complete our quick and easy online referral form using the steps below.

Are Healios an eligible Right to Choose provider?

Yes, we hold a One Devon contract to provide NHS Right to Choose autism assessments to children, and young people and adults. 

My patient is already on a waiting list for an NHS assessment. Can I change it to Right to Choose with Healios so they can be seen sooner?

Yes, if you agree to change the referral to Right to Choose please proceed with the referral.

This will include how the patient or family can activate their Healios account and complete any required forms. If the patient or family have not received this email within a few days, we recommend they check their junk or spam folder, or reach out to Healios directly. 

What happens if a Right to Choose referral is not suitable?

If we’re not able to proceed with your patient’s referral, either because it’s not suitable for assessment or our online service, we’ll contact both you and the patient to let you know, along with the reason why and recommend next steps you may wish to take.
